During the last hour of class we got to use ITouches and the App Proloquo2go. This app was very easy to use, easy to program, and a lot of fun to use! It is for use by people with communication difficulties. The person touches various icons, and the symbols they push combine together to messages, and then the app speaks the entire message for the person! The only drawbacks are that I heard that the IPod Touch battery has a shelf life of only 2 years, and that the ITouch phone is not very loud.
I think that this app is a fantastic one for anybody with communication difficulties. Students would love to carry it around, and it's extremely portable and easy to use. Here is a demo video:
